Friends and Family, The Sequel

More fun and outdoor action this weekend. As we get to know her, running StarBase has finally started to feel like second nature, like the kimono has finally opened. The StarDeck still ranks as my favourite spot in the structure, reminiscent of standing on the deck of a grand ship. If you decide to head upstairs on a clear, starry night, life could not feel more peaceful. A tumbler full of fine peaty scotch only makes the experience more heavenly.

We have been extremely happy and fortunate to be able to share our fortress of solitude with our friends. Here are some updates:

Beginning the prep work

Rose table-top dancing.
Candle lighting was part of her routine.
Dr. Wong dealing with noodles.
Noodles for everyone.

Our lives are extremely food centric, which means a lot of time spent gnoshing. This weekend had a particularly Asian flavour, with hearty Taiwanese noodles, Japanese custard and most importantly, Da Bin Lo (Hot Pot) being indulged in.

Busy in the morning.
The Spread

Nacho found her safety zone, doing her best impression of a fetus on our beanbag chair.

Friends and Family

We've managed to get through our first weekend without using a lifeline. Thank goodness. Beyond managing the wind turbine, the solar panels, the solar water heater and ensuring that we don't overdraw the battery, it's been quite an ordeal. This includes not blowdrying and baking at the same time. Who knew?

Anyway, since the last update we have had my mom and dad as well as our Habitat crew (extended Portuguese family). Below are some updates:

Of course no adventure is complete without shenanigans from our very own Jane Sleeth. That's right, THE Jane Sleeth of OPC fame. If you're wondering, she is COOKING.

Anyways, more updates to follow of course. The weather is getting cold, but the stove keeps us warm.
